Our Team

Gary Gagne, Owner

The company was founded in 1996 at the urging of our newspaper members who wanted to provide key advertising customers with a simple and effective single source that could handle newspaper advertising throughout the Northeastern US. Gagne started the company based on his extensive newspaper experiences, working as the Advertising Director of the Portland Press Herald/ Sunday Telegram and then the New England Newspaper Association. Prior experience included a number of management and sales positions in newspapers, a newspaper rep firm, and an advertising agency.

 

Jim McNeil, VP of Sales

Jim’s start in the media business began at Landon Associates, a newspaper sales and marketing firm, where Jim was the regional manager for the Northern New England territory. That was followed by his appointment as Classified Advertising Director at the Portland Press Herald/Sunday Telegram. Jim left the newspaper business to become Publisher at United Publications in Yarmouth, ME and then became owner and Publisher of a national trade magazine, Kitchenware News & Housewares Review based in Portland, ME. Jim sold the magazine in 2008 and joined Media Resources in 2009.

 

Shirlee  Smith, Administrative Assistant

As Administrative Assistant , Shirlee keeps us on track with her exceptional organizational skills and positive attitude. Before joining Media Resources in 2008, Shirlee was the Administrative Assistant in Advertising at the Portland Press Herald/Sunday Telegram. Prior to that, Shirlee was the Administrative Asst. in the advertising office of Shaw’s Supermarkets when it was based in Portland, ME.
